Q. This New England native joined a traveling entertainment enterprise  at an early age where he sold tickets and did cleaning. Later he was  a traveling salesman. During the war he made a fortune selling, some  say, damaged goods to the army and transporting raw materials out of  the southern states.  He was involved in a famous commodities scheme  in the late 1860's. He was also involved in several transportation  enterprises. He would return to the entertainment field this time as  the owner of a New York music house. Who?
