Civil War reenactment coming to Stockton

Oct. 2 and 3 are fast approaching and with them the gathering of Civil War reenactors on 40 acres of rolling hills south of Stockton. As they have for the past 10 years, the roar of cannons, clash of sabers, and smell of gunpowder will turn this part of Jo Daviess County into the “Battle of Morseville.”

The encampment and battlefield are located on East Schuller Road three miles south of Stockton off Illinois 78. Watch for a sign on Illinois 78 for the turn onto East Schuller Road or for a sign just east of Stockton to go south to Schuller Road via Curtiss Road.
