Carthage exhibit features Civil War generals
There were few men more opposite than Gen. Ulysses S. Grant and Gen. Robert E. Lee. And no two men were better suited to lead an army.
Grant was admired as a soldier, but later heavily criticized as president. Lee was admired as a very good man but criticized for leading an army that protected slavery. To this day, people still have good and bad feelings about these two men.
