Book Shines Light On Local Civil War Units
October 20, 2010 | Posted by javal Martin Stewart of Troy will soon be adding another title next to the current electrical engineer — author. Stewart recently finished a book of the history of a local regiment in the Civil War, which was formed in late 1861 almost entirely in Auglaize, Mercer and Miami counties. His book, which should be available at Canalside Book Shop in St. Marys by mid-November, is titled “Redemption: The 71st Ohio Volunteer Infantry in the Civil War.”
