Civil War fundraiser, salute to vet planned

It’s been 144 years since the last shots of the Civil War were fired, but the spirit of the Union war effort will live on this weekend in central Ohio.

Re-enactors, donning faded blue uniforms, will fire their rifles Saturday as a salute to David Fast, the last Union veteran to die in Pickaway County.
