This weekend, folks can experience life during the War Between the States at the Mountain Gateway Museum in Old Fort.

Today, junior high and high school students will visit the museum grounds and learn something about the War Between the States and the Battle of Swannanoa Gap, which occurred during the last days of the war and was a Confederate victory. Living historians from Camp 379, the Sons of Confederate Veterans will set up an authentic recreation of a Civil War camp and talk to the students about the historic events from 150 years ago.
