City to organize mass reading of Lincoln’s farewell address in February
The Lincoln Depot will be home base Feb. 11 for another attempt at a world record in simultaneous reading, this time with Abraham Lincoln’s farewell address to Springfield.
The city joined in a nationwide effort in February 2009 to recite the Gettysburg Address and beat the current record for mass reading — set in December 2006, when 223,363 people read part of E.B. White’s “Charlotte’s Web
