Civil War vet stayed loyal to his opinions
Micajah Woods had a lot more going for him than a memorable first name.
For starters, the lifelong Albemarle County resident was the father of Maud Woods, the first Miss America for the Pan-American Exposition of 1901. He also served as the commonwealth’s attorney in Charlottesville for 41 years.
