Prominent Manassas businessman dies

A prominent Manassas businessman who also spearheaded the planning of the upcoming commemoration of the sesquicentennial of the Civil War died Tuesday, Manassas city officials said.

Creston Martin Owen, 45, was found dead Tuesday evening by a family member in a detached garage adjacent to his Catlett home. Fauquier County sheriff’s officials said Owen suffered a gunshot wound, and it appeared he might have been cleaning a firearm at the time he was wounded.
