NYS grant to fund restoration of upstate city’s Civl War monument

An upstate city has received a $150,000 grant from the state to restore its monument honoring northern New Yorkers who fought and died in the Civil War.

Watertown has been awarded the funding to restore the Soldiers and Sailors Monument in the city’s Public Square.

The grant comes from the state Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation.
