114th re-enactors seeking photos of their Civil War predecessors

A group of Civil War re-enactors is seeking historic photographs of soldiers from a Springfield-area unit that answered the call of duty nearly 150 years ago.

Jim Patton, a lieutenant in the 114th Illinois Volunteer Infantry Regiment Re-Activated, said some 900 men volunteered for the original 114th Illinois Infantry in 1862. They came from Sangamon, Menard and Cass counties.
