‘Saga of Secession’ tour accepting registration

The University of South Carolina Beaufort’s “Saga of Secession” historic tour will be held at 9:30 a.m. Dec. 18, beginning at the Beaufort campus on Carteret Street. The tour is led by two Secession and Civil War historians, Dr. John McCardell Jr. and Dr. Stephen Wise. The tour’s first stop is the Elizabeth Barnwell Gough House in Beaufort, home of the grandparents of the “father of Secession” Robert Barnwell Rhett and Rhett’s childhood home.
