City school board to consider Civil War marker
The Lynchburg School Board is expected to consider a proposal today to commemorate Union troops held prisoner during the Civil War with a memorial marker at E.C. Glass High School.
What is now E.C. Glass High School was once the site of a prisoner of war camp where Union soldiers were held by Southern troops, said Clifton Potter, who represents the Taylor-Wilson Camp of the Sons of the Union Veterans of the Civil War.
