New lights in store for Monument Square
January 13, 2011 | Posted by javal Since mid-December 2010, the inanimate man rooted to Monument Square has stood in darkness.
The square will receive LED flood lights encircling the Civil War monument and flag pole, said Assistant to the Director Doug Crabill.
The Urbana City Council approved a purchase order of $3,805 for the upgrade Tuesday. The expenditure is in the 2011 budget.
