Gerald Pitts to portray Abraham Lincoln on Feb. 7 at Walhalla library

The years 2011 through 2015 will mark the sesquicentennial of one of the most significant events in American history — the Civil War. One of the most important figures from that era was the 16th president of the United States, Abraham Lincoln. A free presentation will be held at 6 p.m. Feb. 7 at the Walhalla Main Library.

Gerald Y. Pitts will portray Abraham Lincoln. He is the only South Carolina member of ALP, the Association of Lincoln presenters. ALP is a national organization of approximately 166 members whose purpose is to further knowledge and appreciation of the 16th president of the United States.
