Corinthians leave Civil War legacy
Alexander Walker was 49 when he and his three sons joined the Union Army on Oct. 20, 1861.
They were among the 129 men from here — 20 of whom died from wounds or disease — who enlisted during the Civil War.
The next year, Walker fell at Antietam — considered to be the Civil War’s bloodiest battle — near Sharpsburg, Md., while carrying the Stars and Stripes.
