Firm hired to rehab Raymond courthouse
Hinds County has hired a Flowood construction company to work on renovating the courthouse in Raymond.
Paul Jackson & Son Inc. said it could do the work for $1,485,000, and the Board of Supervisors unanimously accepted its bid. The county will pay the company using bond money and a federal grant.
The 150-year-old courthouse, once a Civil War hospital, needs repairs to its water-damaged ceiling, installation of a sprinkler system, replastered walls and wiring upgrades. The building houses offices for the tax collector and the 2nd Judicial Circuit Court.
