Exhibit to examine Lincoln’s quest for answers
The Nebraska Supreme Court State Library is hosting the traveling exhibition, “Lincoln: The Constitution and the Civil War.”
Opening ceremony is 2 p.m. Sunday in the Capitol Rotunda.
Based on an original interactive exhibit in Philadelphia, the traveling version explores President Lincoln’s struggle to resolve questions that divided Americans, including: Was the U.S. truly one nation, or a confederacy of sovereign and separate states? How could a country founded on the belief “all men are created equal” tolerate slavery? In a national crisis, would civil liberties be secure?
