Civil War groups to hold fundraiser at Applebee’s

Even during the Civil War, Union and Confederate soldiers sometimes came together for peaceful purposes.

So maybe it is only natural that groups like the Sons of the Union Veterans of the Civil War and the Sons of Confederate Veterans should offer a meal to raise money together.

Descendants of the two opposing sides from long ago will come together Saturday at Applebee’s restaurant in Swansea for the first “North Meets South Blue and Gray Breakfast.”
