PLEASANTON — The Kansas Historical Society has announced that Mine Creek Battlefield State Historic Site will reopen its visitor center exhibits Wednesday, April 7, 2010, for the spring and summer travel season. Visitor center hours are 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. Wednesday – Saturday through the last Saturday in October.
Visitors are welcome to tour the battlefield and walk the nature trail from dawn until dusk year round. Admission to the visitor center exhibits is $3 for adults and $1 for students. KSHS, Inc., members and children five and under are admitted free. Mine Creek Battlefield is located one-half mile west of the intersection of U.S. 69 and K-52, three miles south of Pleasanton.
