Last week I spoke at a rally in support of protecting the battlefield and against a proposed casino.
I don’t know any of the people involved in the planned financing and development of the casino and did not mention anyone by name. That said, in the enthusiasm of the moment my sense of propriety gave way to an emotional surge of righteous indignation. Having studied the Civil War as long as I have, I should know that’s it’s never a good idea to let righteous indignation get the better of you.
