Grant Park cannon will be fired at noon on Independence Day

For those who wish to display their ardent patriotism, or simply wish to witness a valuable Galena relic make a whole lot of noise, all are invited to view the annual firing of the Civil War cannon in Grant Park on Independence Day.

The “Napoleon” will be fired twice on July 4: at noon, and just prior to the commencement of the evening fireworks display. The cannon will be manned by the avid Galena artillerists John Bookless and Scott Wolfe.
