Headstone Dedication for Maine Civil War Soldier

An East Machias Civil War Veteran, Private William Wallace Clark, was buried upon his death in 1924 at the Richards Cemetary in Jonesport. Clark was wounded during the Civil War and suffered from his wounds for his entire life.

Clark was buried without a head stone. Through research the family has identified his exact burial location and a headstone, provided by the Government, will be dedicated on July 31, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. at the cemetary in Jonesport, Maine. Military Honors will be rendered.
