Historic Artifacts Sitting in Storage

A $15,000 rifle, a $500 spoon, a $200 shovel– Those are a few of the artifacts bought by Harrisburg’s former mayor. They are city assets that could be sold to help chip away at its debt, and they’ve been tucked away in a tiny room for years. We got a first-hand look.


The city owns millions of dollars worth of artifacts. What we saw Thursday belongs to the Harrisburg Authority. A board member wants to get the items out of storage. He inspected them and our cameras went along.
