Driving tour of Civil War sites

Q: My husband of 34 years is a Civil War fan. I would like to plan a trip from Phoenix to some hot-spot Civil War sites. Can you provide some information that could assist in a 10- to 14-day trip? Around the Gettysburg area and going from there would be great.

    Sounds like a great trip! Wish I was going with them. My only argument would be to definitely still go to Fredericksburg and Petersburg. There is a ton of stuff to see and do if you know where to look. The history at Chatham alone is worth the stop, and the trails at Spotsylvania are fantastic. Anybody that takes the time to see Petersburg will not be disappointed.
