Heated battle: Hot day brings cool end to Civil War Muster

After trying on a straw hat to match his 1860s-style outfit, 6-year-old Braxton Walker tugged on his grandmother’s hooped skirt, eager to check out Civil War-era toys.
“Yesterday his favorite new item was a whistle,” said his grandmother, Lorna Mitchell of Hazel Park.
