That's right.  I checked out a Civil War monument in the most anti-military of places (http://www.civilwaretal.blogspot.com).  Do any of you have Civil War monuments near you?

Across the street from where I am sitting, staring into the tube as my fingers place these images on it, is a field. No monument to recall the event, what structures that were on it either collapsed or burned by fire. MG John King Jackson followed another fellow by the same last name in having his arm removed by small arms fire here. All wars have last ditches, across the street is Mr. Lincoln's.
