It rained and rained and rained, then rained some more on Lee's retreat from Gettysburg.  I have been unable to learn just how much.   Does anyone know, or know how to find out, the amount of rainfall for that ten day period?

There was a professor in Gettysburg who kept accurate weather data as a hobby.  I know I have looked at it before but I cannot remember much more than that.  I'll see if I can find it again somewhere.  Cheers!

My mistake... he was a parson.  Here is a link to the data for days leading up to the battle and the battle itself.  The site doesn't have any data past the 4th of July, but with the name you can probably find what you are looking for.  Cheers!

Thanks, but I have seen that link before.

I don't know what you mean by "...with the name you can probably find what you are looking for."

Phooey.  Well, it was worth a shot.  I meant the name of the Parson:  Rev. Dr. Michael Jacobs.  That might lead you to the orginal place where the weather information was jotted down-a diary, book, government documents, somthing of that sort.  Sorry I couldn't be of more help.  Cheers!
