Been waiting all year and have spent the last month prepping the park.
This weekend (16th and 17th) our Civil War in the Southwest reenactment comes to life. We will be reenacting the battles of Valverde, Glorieta Pass and Picacho Pass here at Picacho Peak State Park. For us it is a big event. We'll have about 250 reenactors and 4.000 or so visitors.
Well, it's time to saddle up and perform my Rangerly duties. Wish us luck!:D

For all of us who can't afford to be there, good luck and I hope you guys can interest a few people into signing up after they see your reenactment.

Heck, that's almost a full-sized reenactment of those battles! Good luck!

Thanks for the follow-up.
:)
The reenactment went very well. The battles were fought with energy and precision by our dedicated reenactors. The crowd numbered over 5000 and they were a sociable and courteous bunch. The weather was great. I got to meet Don Jolley and bought one of his art pieces and purchased a couple of other items from our vendors. All told it was a great event. :D
Just wish I could get to the BIG reenactments back east. (maybe another year).

Gee, sounds like you had an absolutely terrible time.;)

Joking aside, it does sound like you folks had a great weekend St Pat's weekend. Glad you enjoyed yourself.
