Folks,

The holiday shopping season is about to begin, and CWi could really use your help. The money we generate at this time of year accounts for 1/2 of our income for the year. Below is a rundown of ways to help CWi:

Patronize Our Advertisers: See all those little button ads on the left side of the homepage? Those are the folks who pay our bills. They get business from them, they keep paying our bills - they don't, they stop. Please patronize them, and tell them you saw them in CWi.

Books, Movies, Music and Software: Rather than going to Amazon.com directly, please go through the CWi Gift Shop. Our shop contains everything Amazon does, whether Civil War related or not. Use the search field in the shop to find what you need (even though the drop-down fields say "Civil War books", "Civil War CD's", etc. you can actually find all genres there)

Art Prints and Posters: We have a wide variety of Civil War prints and posters in our "Prints and Posters" shop. They are available framed or not, matted or not, etc. If you're looking for something non-Civil War related, simply click on the Posters.com logo at the top left of the page.

Ebay: More and more people shop through Ebay. We have an Ebay Civil War Shop that shows Civil War items available, updated in real-time. If you're shopping for something non-Civil War related, simply go to that page and click on the Ebay logo at the top left. And if you're registering at Ebay for the first time, be sure to go through that logo.

Google Ads: We hesitate to mention these, because we don't want people to sit and click them just to click them, with no intention of buying. That's dishonest and considered "click-fraud". But by all means, if you see something that looks interesting, click on it and check it out.

Donate: For those who just want to love us the old-fasioned way, you can always just throw cold cash directly at us. You can use the "Donate" button found on the Trivia page for credit card/Paypal donations, or send checks/money orders to the address found at the top right of every CWi page.

Thanks for taking the time, and don't worry, we'll only beg to this extent once a year ;)

Thank you, Civil War Interactive, for giving businesses - and we are all "small" businesses - a place to connect with people in the Civil War community!

In order to give people a CHANCE to patronize a CWI advertiser, please see this announcement:

Virtual Book Signing
The At-Home Interactive Book-Signing Experience™

http://www.VirtualBookSigning.net

Virtual Book Signing Features Richard Lawrence Miller,

Author of Lincoln and His World.

On Thursday night, December 7, at  6:00 p.m. we broadcast our next live “Virtual Book Signing.” See Richard Lawrence Miller sign his new book, Lincoln and His World: The Early Years Birth to Illinois Legislature.  Mr. Miller will speak promptly at 6:00 p.m. (CST) and the program will be broadcast live, online, at http://www.VirtualBookSigning.net.  The public is also invited to join us to watch the presentation in person, and meet the author.  Join us at the Abraham Lincoln Book Shop, 357 W. Chicago Avenue in Chicago to see the presentation in person.

Miller is beginning a fascinating new series of books that examines Lincoln's life by looking at the world around him, and how it influenced him. This is a rich account of Lincoln’s world and what he himself saw and heard.  Miller draws on first-person accounts, newspaper articles, and other sources to recount the stories and record the day-to-day details and observations in this insightful biography.  These sources shed light on the president’s upbringing and depict the harsh pioneer life of the time, which shaped Lincoln’s character and beliefs.  “In a text filled with previously undiscovered stories and eyewitness accounts, Richard Lawrence Miller has built a rich, fascinating, deeply authentic narrative of Lincoln’s early years.” --- Richard Rhodes.

Order Your Signed Copy now for delivery after the event.

Lincoln and His World costs $32.95.

Standard shipping charges apply ($7 for first book, $1 each additional) and Illinois residents pay 9% sales tax.

To reserve your signed copy visit http://www.VirtualBookSigning.net or call us at (312) 944-3085.

Thanks again, and seasons greetings from Virtual Book Signing and the Abraham Lincoln Book Shop, in Chicago.
