Wish it did stand for cooking, even though I do fancy myself a fairly decent cook. Have to since I'm originally from La. Nope, Tim Brando, a CBS sportscaster gave it to me. We're both from Shreveport. Took care of one of his daughters who was a premature infant. Used to call into his national radio show a great deal years ago and he started giving me the handle so it stuck.

Brando's a great guy. Extremely knowlegeable about college football and basketball. Only thing I have against him is that he thinks that since he was an Atlanta Braves broadcaster when they won their only world series he's entitled to wear a world series ring.

I know a HS basketball coach who bought two for himself when his team won back-to-back state championships.  I found it to be fairly strange.

Just as strange as fans buying for themselves championship rings when their team wins.  Not my style!

I'll try not to be.  The reason I joined is to get involved in some of the discussions.  I like the intellectual CW discussions.

Welcome to the Board, Crazy Delawares.  I grew up in NJ, also in Gloucester County (Newfield).  Graduated Vineland High School in 1969.  Even the high school cafeteria made good subs!  I married a nice Italian gal who still has family in the area and we visit frequently.

Yep - Cowtown, Black Horse ,White Horse , 24-hour Diners - you name it.  And where else in the world can you get proficient at tossing 70 cents into a 12-inch funnel at 55 mph.

Nobody that I know from NJ says "Noo Joisy."  Where the heck did that come from?

Originally from the Garden State (God's Country),

Hello connyankee! The world is indeed a small place. I taught at Delasea Reg. HS in the 80's.
!
I've yet to meet anyone from Noo Joisee myself. My reb buddies from KY. used to tease me all the time. I'd always ask them where they'd heard that pronunciation but, they never could say!
Being a graduate of Kingsway Reg. HS (1976), I know Cowtown well! GREAT place if you don't mind stepping in the bull-stuff!
Still, betweeen the laws, insurance and taxes, I'd just as soon move south!
