I'll second the lady Susan's "Welcome back," hope the seas didn't give you a storm to contend w/. Look forward to your next mini project.

Ohh and Happy New Year, hope you were able to enjoy the holidays.

Ummm I think I will proudly keep my status as a landlocked landlubber. I think I'm going to get seasick just looking at the pictures.

When I was a kid I got to know a "retired" merchant sailor. Lost his leg in some sort of shipboard accident; spent 40 odd years at sea and after his accident he said he moved to Iowa to get as far away from the sea as possible. Lasted about two or three years before he moved out to one of the NC coastal islands... he thought he hated the sea but when he was w/out he realized how much he missed it. He used to make miniature sailing ships, put a remote control motor in them and set them loose on the Mississippi. I suspect the sea was in his blood.

Have a look where Bedale is in relation to the sea, I only go back because it pays the bills.

Henesey... proof Bama that you have exquisite taste.  Woodford Preserve.   aaan all I got was an original Lorenz Musket tool & I bought myself a shotgun I've been looking for 5 or so years.  Add a couple books & I can't whine too much.  I'm looking forward to digging into the Annals of the Army of the Cumberland.. by Fitch.

I was able to get the treat of handling an original M1842 Austrian Engineers Rifle. Almost my Christmas gift to myself but the wife would not have seen it that way... probably would have used it to bludgeon me to death w/.

Roger, did you get any CW related toys for Christmas?

Roger I agree with Johan I was getting seasick just looking at the picture and you were reading ?????!!!!!!

Santa brought me new books and a gift card for more books and my dear nephew gave me another "tacky" snowglobe.  It is a running long time joke with us .

Can't do hat Bama... the boss runs the purse strings by paying the bills. She'd see the expense on the monthly statement and ask me wat I paid $500 for at Wild Goose Sports... in which case my goose would be cooked and the gig up. I know it's easier to ask forgiveness than permission but you've never seen my wife weild a skillet.

Thank you Dixie Girl, it's nice to be back. From what we've seen on the TV here you've been having some pretty severe weather on your side of the ocean. Here's another one for you,

So Roger, do you down the scotch before or after you've dried yourself off?

Your pics made the wife remind me she's only just got over her vertigo.
