Doc thanks . One of the concerts I went to is listed with a handbill I think is in the drawer in my back room. Listed at almost 300 dollars. hmmm I have several posters from concerts. But of course would never part with them. Interesting site. Since I was in Los Angeles I went to Shrine Auditorium often in 1968. They had a concert once a week. Six or seven bands. Good music . Saw Blue Cheer there in debut . Susan Oh to keep to the thread I would show people the Shrine Auditorium an interesting old buidling where the GAR had their Camp meetings , The site where I saw my first opera as a teenager , and saw many many concerts See I made it Civil War and fit the topic.

Susan, my father calls them the Cockroaches (my term is bugs as it's more polite) because he blames them for the demise of the Big Band music of his childhood. He has a point I suppose. It's music; I listen to a little of everything except RAP as I do have some standards. But the idea that one band was the defining moment of a generation has always irked me.

No matter how insignificant or small, each generation borrows or incorporates something from the preceding generations music. Listen to the runs of some of Bachs organ compositions and imagine some of the great guitar riffs of clapton, etc. Doc C
