I am new to this site, and have a question maybe some one may be able to help me with, I am looking at buying a 1860 lt, cav. saber for my collection, it is a mans, and lamb 65 dated with scabbard and inspectors marks. they are asking 600 shipped, and I see that most dealers want 750 to 850 these days, I will try to post photos. but it is in very good condition. there are two dents in the scabbard that look like the usual sort of anti rattle done by the user. thanks for any help

It seems like an excellent price - you'll just want to make sure, of course, that it's all original.  Many today are found with recreated grips, assembled from parts of sabers, etc.  It's not even unheard of for reproduction swords to be doctored and sold as original.

If original, though, this looks to be a good one and a great price.  If it had a provenance or could be traced, it'd be worth a great deal more.
