My sources would suggest they didn't.
From Don Troiani's Regiments & Uniforms of the Civil War.
"The uniform of the Confederate surgeon was identical to that of the line officers, except that the trim of the coat collar, cuffs and trouser stripe were black, and the letters "MS" were embroidered in gold on the front of the hat or cap."
No distinctive uniform was issued for enlisted men but but it is reported some wore red badges in their hats.
Hope this helps a bit.

Green was the trim color of the regular army mounted rifles and some militia units that gave themselves the name "Rifles" favored green somewhere in their uniforms. Pre-war militia... pretty much anything went.

Both Federal & CS followed a lot of the pre war US Regular Army mores... When I get back home I can try to look at a few books but at gut reaction I suspect Green trim on a gray kepi is going to be a CS or pre/early war Union militia cap. That said a lot of sutlers come up w/ ideas for gear that has more bassis in fantasy than reality.

I seem to remember reading or hearing that Confederate medical enlisted personnel sometimes wore green armbands, but I can't find any documention to back that up.

I have another theory. Some of the mostly Irish Confederate companies and regiments wore green jackets and kepis near the start of the war or in state militias before the war. It is entirely possible that a green band on a kepi could have signified that the company, regiment or brigade was mostly Irish.
Furthermore these same companies, etc., carried green battle flags often adorned with shamrocks or Celtic golden harps and had Gaelic battle cries embroidered on them.
