Your post concerning your trip brought back memories of college life at Baylor. My best friend there was from Coolidge. It was close enough to Waco that we could break away from classes to go fishing at one of the local tanks, dove hunting at dusk, etc. Reminded me a great deal of the town in the film Last Picture show which was released about the same time I was there. At the time had a 7 man high school football team. Unfortunately even in the early 70's it looked like it was on its last legs.

Thanks for conjuring up old memories (the building blocks of life).

I can understand your feelings at your great-grandmothers grave. Recently visited 2 of my ancestors graves for the first time at Arlington and Alexandria National Cemeterys. It was a raw, windy January day at both and no living individuals near where I was. The feeling was undescribable.
