Eric Wittenberg, myself, and our publisher were quite astonished to find that the first edition of our book, "Plenty of Blame to Go Around: Jeb Stuart's Controversial Ride to Gettysburg" sold out within 7 days of release. We're gratified and humbled by the news. The good news is that a second print run has just been ordered to fulfill orders. If anyone has ordered through this site, Amazon, or own own site http://www.stuartsride.com, hang on and you should receive your copy soon.
The first edition was a good sized print run, and we didn't expect it to go so soon. Thanks to everyone here who helped make this possible, and I truly hope you enjoy the book and that it's a good contribution to the scholarship of the Gettysburg Campaign.

Just a little update - the second print run should be available in a matter of days.
My coauthor Eric Wittenberg and I are going to be signing the Special Limited Gettysburg Editions (numbered and limited to 100 copies) this week, and will be shipping those orders out very soon. Anyone who's ordered those - hang on and you'll receive yours soon.

Just want to say that I pre-ordered this book at Amazon.com prior to publication and was fortunate enough to receive it when it was released. What a fascinating book! I could hardly put it down. It certainly does examine every aspect of the controversy surrounding Stuart's "skylarking" ride to Gettysburg burdened with his captured wagon train while Robert E. Lee fumed, fretted and fussed without any intelligence from his cavalry. The book takes care to point out that Lee did have other cavalry available and explains the reasons he did not employ them.
I can see why the book has sold out. It is a thoroughly researched and well-written account of J.E.B Stuart's travels. It even includes a plan for retracing Stuart's actual route and has some photographs of various sites as they look today.

Thank you very much folks! As a new author (book-wise) you have no idea how much it means to hear such kind words about it. Sue, I hope you enjoy the book as well, and I'd very much appreciate hearing about your thoughts when you finish it.
Also, if anyone would like to put a review of the book on Amazon.com, we'd really appreciate that. That also means a great deal, since prospective buyers often made decisions based on what the reviews say, and how many there are.

Congratulations David. I recently purchased Mr. Wittenberg's book on Parker's Cross Roads And I saw your book mentioned on the dust jacket. I hope your book continues to do well.

Kent,
Am sure you know this, but there used to be a hockey player named Kent Nilsson that played for the Calgary Flames. IIRC, his son now plays for the New York Islanders.
BTW...Monroe's Crossroads...

The name struck a bell. Have it. Will move it up it the "to read" stack. It must be a quality book if Savas Beatie published it.

Eric and J. David, congrats again!!! I picked my Civil War magazines out of my mailbox this week end and The cover story in one was Why Jeb Stuart was too Late by who but Eric J. Wittenberg and J. David Petruzzi. The other magazine had a almost full page picture of the cover of Plenty of Blae to Go Around with a very good review. Saying "they have written of the fullest treatments of the subject to date." Another part says it is well written. Congrats. Got to move this book to the top of my PILE!!!

I promise you you will enjoy it, our roundtable is very hospitable. We were scheduled to have Gabor Boritt that month but understand he has some medical issues, he'll be okay after recovery I am told. To be able to replace him with another top notch writer/speaker at the last minute was a blessing.
