I wasn't sure the best area for this topic, but what a fantastic time I had this weekend visiting the restored "Kennedy Farm" in Maryland where John Brown was staying when he launched his raid into Harper's Ferry in Oct. 1859.

Although I have walked the grounds before, the house itself is not "open" except for special occasions, and there are some worthwhile events now going on for the 150th anniversary.   I also stopped in Chambersburg to see the house he stayed in for part of July 1859 and the site of his trial and execution in Charles Town, WV.

There also was a great walk with a Park Ranger that I went on in Harper's Ferry called "In the Footsteps of John Brown."

I'm so grateful to all the people who work so hard to keep history alive and provide these experiences to others.
