Just finished this book and really enjoyed it. I got interested in Burgwyn Jr. after reading Covered in Glory by Rod Gragg which is about the 26th North Carolina from it's beginnings to the battle at Gettysburg. This book quotes letter after letter from Burgwyn to his family and friends which gives a pretty open look to what the people were thinking and doing in their own words. Also gives a short look at  Zebulon Vance who left the 26th to become North Carolina's war time governor. Written by Archie K Davis and published by UNC Press.
