Ole, Beg Pardon, Kind Sir, i did not take that concept from your earlier posts. Only thing I woud disagree with is that Grant, the nominal commanding General, was not on the march, was not looking to take corinth, but was looking for a warm bed and good food while his army camped 7 miles or so away. he was on no offensive whatsoever..Halleck has specifically forbade that.
