Defender that trapper in Wyoming would that have been John Colter formerly one of the members of the Lewis and Clark Corp of Discovery? The man who was the first white man to see Yellowstone Park? He was captured by the Blackfoot and forced to run naked for quite a distance to escape them. He is the one member of the Corps that didn't return east after the Trek west. He got permission to stay in the West from Lewis . There is a book John Colter Mountain Man that tells his story. Susan
