The first field hospital ever on a battlefield occurred at Shiloh... I am certain there are many articles and sites describing this, but I have not searched any of them... This represented a huge advance in medicine, as doctors were actually present on the battlefield. From this event, came our present day battlefield medical units.. imbedded medics, aid stations, MASH units, and even trauma centers, paramedics and ambulances here in the US.. Instead of a paper on the LIMITATIONS of CW medicine, you could do one on this tremendous advance in medicine Ed Last edited on Mon Sep 29th, 2008 04:41 pm by |
