I thought Carrie's story was enough to carry the book and the added love afair or what ever was unnecessary , Nothing in her real story says she ever was unfaithful to her husband . Just seemed to be thrown in to sell the book. Another book I would love to see made into a movie is Varina First Lady of the Confederacy Miss Susan
