Doc C, Maybe this will be helpful: Through the help of friend I found out that Oscar C. Wood was a private and then a corporal in the 5th Michigan Cavalry. Here's the 5th Michigan roster: http://www.michiganinthewar.org/cavalry/5cava.htm Here's his gravesite: http://www.findagrave.com/cgi-bin/fg.cgi?page=gr&GSln=wood&GSfn=oscar&GSbyrel=in&GSdyrel=in&GSob=n&GRid=6041988& Here's where he was in 1894 (Elkland Township): http://www.accessgenealogy.com/scripts/data/database.cgi?file=Data&report=SingleArticle&ArticleID=0024676 And maybe this could help for further research: http://www.usgennet.org/usa/mi/county/tuscola/tcgs.htm Good luck, Doc. At least it's a start. Does anyone ever ask you 'What's up, Doc?'
