Imboden and his men had various mishaps from Chambersburg to Cash Town with some Union Cavalry but they were able to continue on
Some of the Brigade rested at Cash Town waiting their orders.
Imboden went on to Gettysburg that morning and saw Pickett’s Charge that afternoon and witnessed the fighting. Late evening and the battle was over.
General Imboden goes to a Meeting with General Lee and receives his assignment lead the wagon train of sick, dead, and wounded back to Virginia.
This row of threes in the background along Chambersburg Pike is where General Lee had his head quarters and gave General Imboden his instruction. On July 4, both sides of the road in the fields was filled with wagons
