Hi there,

I'm new to the board so forgive me if this is the wrong section for my first post.

Back in the early 80s I watched what I believe to be a civil war movie and there was one particular scene that has stuck in my head for years.

The main scene took place on a battlefield (plantation) on which sat a large house.  Inside was an old woman in a rocking chair in the middle of the crossfire.  I believe she was killed (either by rifle shot or cannon; can't remember which).  The next scene that i can recall was of two soldiers being branded with an actual branding iron with the word coward.

That's all I can remember as I was no more than 6 years old at the time.

As strange as this sounds, these two scenes from this film have been stuck in my brain for decades and I've never been able to figure out where they came from.  I figured that if anyone would know it would be someone from this forum.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance.
