Thanks, I found info on Oscar Fitzallen Brown from a genealogy site. Not fro Wisconsin. He shows up when gggrandfather enlisted for second time with Mississippi Marine Brigade. In 1856, he moved to Shelbyville, Missouri and was their teacher for two years. Again moving, Oscar went to Shelbisa, in the same county, and started a general merchandise business and remained there until he enlisted as a private in the 5th Battery of Cavalry in 1861, organizing at St. Joseph. Promoted to 2nd Lieut. on September 1, 1861, and remained with the command until mustered out. Enlisting again as a private in the 13th Missouri Cavalry, but on the 19th of January was appointed captain, C Cav., in the Mississippi Marine Service by the President of the United States. In 1863, he was put in command of the U.S. Steamer BJ Adams, and the John Raine in 1864. He left the service honorably in April 1865, due to failure of eye sight (special ordinance No. 431), and after living in Omaha for a year, pursued agricultural life in Colfax county, Nebraska
