I recently aquired a letter that was written by a Charley L Flanders dated July 24 1862 and is written on offical stationary stamped at the top with "Head-Quarters Heavy Artilley 14th Mass. Co. C or maybe E (written in script and hard to tell). The letter is about 3 pages (front and back) long and mentions the "N" word so I was not sure if I could share with you guys or not? The letter was sent from Fort Tellinhurst Va. to his brother trying to talk him out of enlisting in the army. Also if anyone can find any information or this trooper I would appreciate it if you would share it with me.
