Thanks, Mike, for posting that. I was just in Gettysburg for the last week, and spent some time on Powers Hill. It is really difficult to get an idea of how important the hill was for the Union artillery as it is today--you can get a better idea of why if you google images of Powers Hill taken in the years after the battle but before the trees crowded in. The tree cuts they have made in the Spangler's Spring area on Culp's Hill have made a HUGE difference, and go a long way to helping a person get a more accurate viewshed; the tree cuts on Powers Hill will definitely add to that. If you haven't been to Gettysburg in a while, you're in for a treat!
