 Each side is guilty of tremendous bloodshed, obviously, but I challenge anyone to present a transgression committed by Forrest not committed by/under Sherman or another U.S. general.

The accounts at Ft. Pillow are at best disputed, and to say that he ordered the execution of armless, captured prisoners at best presents a level of certitude not warranted by the evidence, and at worst misrepresents the facts in a manner arising to libel.
